Tuenti grows as a Virtual Mobile Network Operator


Tuenti revenues in 2013 reached 17 million euros. Most of their income came from their new business unit as a Virtual Mobile Network Operator which last year grew up to 240%.

Tuenti´s corporate blog has recently posted the companies results. According to Sebastian Muriel, the Chief Operating Officer, the groups turnover in 2013 was of 17 million euros, representing an increase of 21% compared to 2012 (14 million euros).

Most of their income came from their new business unit as a virtual mobile network operator which last year increased over 240%. Since they entered into the telecommunication market (February 2012) Tuenti has reached over 200,000 active customers. 
 
According to Sebastian Muriel Tuenti´s new business model is becoming global: "Its is already in Spain and Mexico and will soon reach other markets". The company´s added value is providing customer a service that integrates telecommunications and social media through an app offering a cloud platform experience. Customers will be able to use digitalvoice to make calls from their Tuenti app to a landline or cell phone numbers, within their tariff and without requiring the other person to have the Tuenti app installed. This service is available on iOS and Android phones and tablets, as well as on Internet with Chrome and Opera browsers.

Tuenti is a social communications start-up headquartered in Madrid and led by Zaryn Dentzel, the company’s young American CEO. Founded in 2006, Tuenti now has more than 250 employees from 22 different nationalities.

Tuenti belongs to Telefónica, an international telecommunications group that became a strategic investor in 2010.
