The European Court of Auditors
is one of the monitoring institutions of the EU. It may audit any person managing or receiving Community funds, but in particular, it audits the Community institutions and bodies, the national, regional and local authorities and the final recipients of Community aid.
ECA’s aim is to improve the way the Union’s finances are managed and contribute to public accountability regarding the raising and spending of the EU budget
through assurance and advice. The ECA is based in Luxembourg.
Throughout the year, the European Court of Auditors organises traineeship periods in different areas of interest. The training periods last for a maximum period of five months and may be remunerated or non-remunerated. In view of the restricted budgetary appropriations available, however, the number of training periods granted, that assure a retribution of 1120 €/month, is limited.
In order to be eligible for the traineeship, applicants must be a EU citizen with a university-level degree and have good knowledge of a EU language and a satisfactory knowledge of a second one.
There are no deadlines, as applications may be submitted throughout the year. To apply for the traineeship, it is necessary to fill an application form
available in English or French and submit it to the website
of the Court.
