The euro area (EA19) seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 10.5% in November 2015, down from 10.6% in October 2015, and from 11.5% in November 2014. This is the lowest rate recorded in the euro area since October 2011. The EU28 unemployment rate was 9.1% in November 2015, down from 9.2% in October 2015, and from 10.0% in November 2014. This is the lowest rate recorded in the EU28 since July 2009. These figures are published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Leer ms

3 million in job search aid for redundant Finnish and Irish workers

Finland and Ireland should get EU aid worth 2.6 million to help find new jobs for 1,200 redundant Finnish IT workers and over 400,000 for 108 redundant Irish aircraft repair workers, following a vote by the budgets committee on Thursday.
